What is the the New “Normal” for people during the Pandemic
The Pandemic has put unforseen challenges in everyone’s life. We struggle to understand this virus and when, if ever, we will go back to the “New” normal. With this uncertainty creates fear of the unknown and now visiting doctors over Telehealth. The real question is, what positive changes have happened and how has this effected the world.
Daily downloads of the Zoom app have increased 30x year-over-year and the app has been the top free app for iPhones in the United States since March 18, according to Bernstein Research and Apptopia. Zoom said daily users spiked to 200 million in March, up from 10 million in December.
1.Using Zoom has allowed people to visit doctors, therapists, psychiatrists and more while saving time and increasing productivity.
2)It has allowed Meditation Retreats, Book Clubs, AA Meetings and more to be done just by entering a Username and Passcode into a Zoom Application.
3)People who suffer from a Mental Illness or Substance Abuse can go to a meeting all over the world at any time of day. There are connections that are being made that would never have been without this platform.
4)By using Zoom, those who suffer from Social Phobia can now go to Alcohol Anonymous with there camera off and just listen, which could be saving their lives. They may have been too afraid of going into a church basement and now may not be in the future, as connections are made.
To conclude, I believe that there is so much negativity during this Pandemic and rightfully so, as so many lives have been lost. On the flip side, people are still getting the help they need through Zoom, babies are still being born and we can travel for free while meeting new people across the world.
It’s about balancing the positive and the negative. Embrace the sadness and be Grateful for the gifts we received while using Zoom. I personally have more meaningful relationships now than I ever have had. God bless the people who lost love ones and God bless the ability that life can continue during a Global Pandemic.
