Did you know there was a Healthy Selfish?
I was introduced to this term years ago, which is having a “healthy selfish.”
What does that exactly mean to people who associate the word “selfish” as negative.
It is crucial that we take care of our needs, as then we are better equipped to help others in need. In Psychology Today it says “The irony is that putting other peoples’ needs above our own can often lead to resentment. It also talks about how women in particular feel that having an unhealthy selfish leads to a “Shameful Act.” Let’s take a look at how taking care of your needs first will benefit other people.
