Meditation is my go to every time I feel overwhelmed, anxious or just want to feel calm. I always use a guided meditation and switch around in which meditation I choose. For instance, I did hear that 20 minutes a day of a self-compassion meditation is essential. There are so many different types of meditation and try starting with 5 minutes per day and gradually increase. Countless times, I’ve heard, “I don’t know how to meditate, I don’t like it or it doesn’t work for me”. I have been practicing meditation regularly for many years now and felt the same way at first. With that being said I have seen, first hand, the benefits of regular meditation.
When practicing meditation, there is not a wrong way to do it. It takes practice and even the best of the best are still learning. You are going to have hundreds of thoughts during a meditation and acknowledge them as a thought and bring yourself back to the breath. It doesn’t matter how many times you do this as over time you do find it easier. I truly love meditating and see the true benefits in it. It takes practice. like anything else. Another point I want to mention is that you can be practicing mindfulness when you are doing a craft, walking, and more. Let’s take a look at the health benefits and the different kinds of meditations in an article from the “Mayo Clinic.”.

I’ll leave you with this:
1)Don’t give up
2)Start out slow
3)Find the right meditation you like & switch them up.
