There are more people working from home and there is an increase in Alcohol Consumption. How has this affected the increase in alcohol consumption?
The Pandemic has been difficult, to say the least, for the entire world. We are walking outside with masks on our face and trying to stay 6 feet apart from others. People are now working from home which can put strain on families, relationships & more. People are ordering their groceries online and many are scared to leave their houses. What is the “new normal” going to look like? I personally try to not predict what the future will look like and catch myself when I do. It is truly impossible to predict the future and I try to stay positive during these unprecidented time.. I specifically want to talk about what it has done to the suffering alcoholic?
Let’s take a look at online alcohol sales. It’s my guess that alcohol consumption has gone way up and isolation is one of the many reasons. With the unkown of what the world will look like, even with the new vaccinations, can be really scary and can trigger immense fear. This can send a recovering alcoholic back to their first drink. This pandemic has caused so many deaths and now add to it this increase of alcoholism. It does not matter how many years one has been sober as they need to look at everyday as they are one drink away from relapsing. Stay aware, be vigilant and stay sober as this is life or death.
